What end of lease cleaning covers

An end of lease clean is not a regular domestic clean with extra time on the clock. The scope is different because the standard is different. A regular clean maintains a lived-in home. An end of lease clean works to the condition report standard that property managers use to assess a property on departure.

That means the oven interior, range hood filter, inside all kitchen and bathroom cupboards, grout lines, window tracks, skirting boards, and any area that appears on a standard inspection checklist. If something is in your lease agreement, let us know when you book and we will make sure it is covered.

For properties that have not been professionally cleaned in some time, the scope can overlap with a deep clean. If you are unsure which applies, describe the property when you request a quote and we will recommend the right approach. What property managers actually check

Most property managers work from a standardised exit condition checklist. Every agent applies it differently, but the areas that most commonly generate queries are the same across the board.

Bond cleaning is not a DIY job. Most tenants who attempt their own end of lease clean underestimate what agents actually check: skirtings, tracks, inside cupboards, oven racks. A professional end of lease clean with a re-clean process removes that risk entirely.

Common areas that fail on inspection

    • Oven interior (visible grease or residue is the most common failure point)
    • Range hood filter and the surround area
    • Shower grout and glass (soap scum and hard water marks)
    • Inside kitchen and bathroom cupboards
    • Window tracks and sills
    • Behind and under appliances where accessible
    • Skirting boards and door frames

Why we use eco products even for a bond clean

Just because you are leaving the property does not mean the products used are irrelevant. The next tenants move in within days in most cases. If they have young children, a baby, or anyone with sensitivities, they are immediately in contact with whatever is left on the surfaces, in the cupboards, and on the floors.

Our plant-based products do not leave synthetic fragrance or chemical residue. The property is clean and safe for whoever comes next.

There is also a practical benefit for anyone who has ever had to clean a property themselves after a conventional cleaning product job: no chemical headache, no lingering smell, no need to air the place out for hours before an inspection. Read more about how our eco approach works.

How to prepare for an end of lease clean

Remove all personal belongings before we arrive. Disconnect and move any appliances that need it. If the property has specific access arrangements, confirm those when you book. Let us know about any areas of concern, particularly if there has been visible damage or heavy build-up anywhere.

If you are not sure whether the property needs a standard end of lease clean or something more involved, send us some photos. We would rather assess properly than have anything be unexpected on the day.

A tenant called us the day before their final inspection after their original cleaner cancelled. We rescheduled two jobs to fit them in. The inspection passed first time. They left a five star review and booked us for their new place the same week. We are not promising we can always accommodate last-minute bookings, but it is worth asking.

Common questions about end of lease cleaning

What is included in an end of lease clean?

An end of lease clean covers the full scope that property managers check on exit: oven interior, range hood filter, inside all kitchen and bathroom cupboards, bench tops, splashback, shower tiles and glass descaled, toilets, vanity and sinks, skirting boards, door frames, ceiling fans, light switches, windows inside, wall spot cleans, and all floors vacuumed and mopped. Carpets are a separate service. If you are not sure whether something is included, ask when you book.

Do you offer a re-clean guarantee if the inspection raises queries?

Yes. If the property manager raises specific cleaning issues after the inspection, we will return to address those items. This applies to areas within the scope of the original job. We ask that you let us know within 72 hours of the inspection so we can get back in promptly.

How long does an end of lease clean take?

A one or two bedroom apartment typically takes four to six hours. Larger properties take longer. The condition of the property also affects timing. If the oven has not been touched in a year, for example, that alone adds time. We confirm a time estimate when we quote so there are no surprises on the day.

Do carpets need to be professionally cleaned separately?

In most cases, yes. Most leases and property managers require carpets to be professionally steam cleaned at the end of a tenancy, which is a separate process from an end of lease clean. We can arrange carpet cleaning alongside the end of lease clean so both are handled at once. Ask about this when you get your quote.

How far in advance should I book an end of lease clean?

As soon as you have a confirmed inspection date. End of lease bookings are time-sensitive and availability in the days before an inspection fills up quickly, particularly at peak moving periods. Booking two weeks out is ideal. That said, if you are in a tight situation, contact us and we will let you know what is possible.

Why do you use eco products for an end of lease clean?

Because the next tenants move in within days of the clean in most cases. Our plant-based products do not leave synthetic fragrance or chemical residue on surfaces, in cupboards, or on floors. The property is clean and safe for whoever walks in next, including families with young children or people with sensitivities.
